August Newsletter: A New Chapter

Hello and welcome to the latest newsletter from PA Accounting.

August has been a busy month for us, with multiple VAT returns and year-end work for a number of limited company clients, alongside all the usual day-to-day support. The office has also been busy with client visits and Teams meetings.

You may have noticed that we have a new name. We will share more about that below.

Our new name

You may have recently seen that we have changed our name to PA Accounting Ltd.

As the company has progressed over the last ten years, we took the step to change our name — but not the service we provide. The business has naturally developed into more than a bookkeeping service, and we wanted a name that better represents that wider support.

We have rebranded our social media pages, website and more. We would not be where we are today without the support of so many local businesses, so thank you.

We are still the same team with the same focus and services, just with a new name that reflects the company a little better.

A new website

We are pleased to announce that the new PA Accounting Ltd website is now live.

The site makes it easier to find out who we are, what we offer and how we can support you and your business. Whether you are an established business, just starting out, or looking for a friendly and professional accountant you can trust, we are here to help.

Take a look around and let us know what you think.

Making Tax Digital in 2027

If your self-employment or property income is over £30,000 for the 2025–26 tax year, you are likely to be required to join Making Tax Digital for Income Tax from 6 April 2027.

Making Tax Digital means keeping digital records, using compatible software and sending quarterly updates to HMRC. It is worth getting prepared rather than leaving it until the last minute.

PA Accounting Ltd has a dedicated Making Tax Digital service in place to make the transition as straightforward and stress-free as possible.

Our support can help you:

  • Get set up with suitable software
  • Keep your records digitally
  • Manage quarterly submissions
  • Keep everything organised and up to date
  • Take pressure off you and your business

Making Tax Digital does not have to be complicated. If you think you may be affected, get in touch with PA Accounting Ltd and we can talk through what is changing and how our MTD service can help.

Do not wait until April 2027 — getting prepared now can make the move much easier.

Self Assessments

Why wait until January?

There is no need to leave your Self Assessment until the last minute.

With the 2025/26 tax year now complete, this is a good time to get your return prepared and submitted. Filing early means you will know exactly where you stand with HMRC, giving you time to plan for any tax payment that may be due.

If you have overpaid tax and are entitled to a refund, filing sooner could mean receiving that money back sooner too.

Filing early does not mean paying early. Your 2025/26 Self Assessment tax is generally still due by 31 January 2027. Knowing your liability in advance gives you time to budget and avoid unwelcome surprises.

At PA Accounting Ltd, we can take care of the whole process: preparing your accounts, identifying allowable expenses and tax reliefs, submitting your return, and explaining what you owe or may be due back.

Do not leave it until January. Get ahead, get organised and get your Self Assessment sorted.

Something for you

The next time you pop by to say hello, we have branded folders ready for you to fill with your monthly paperwork.

Bring a folder back full and we will give you another one. It is a simple way to make it easier to keep your receipts together in one place.

As always, thank you for your continued support and custom. Keep an eye on the Wemian and our Facebook page for regular updates and advertising. If you know someone who may need our services, please send them our details.

See you next month,

PA Accounting Ltd
